  1. Looking for your first fountain pen can be a challenge. If you have a local pen store (which are quite rare) you could test one. Pilot pens are quite easily available at many office and stationary stores as are some other brands. I found Pilot pens and cartridges locally for about $10 or less, and they have nice nibs, write smooth, and are good starter pens, Zebra makes a nice one also, but it writes lighter than most, and I forget why I tossed it after a while. I had some reviews on my blog a few years ago. The Fountain Pen Network is an excellent resource for anything fountain pen related.
