  1. Mike in Virginia. SG-1 sticky tabs! I’ve owned two SG-1s and both had sticky tabs. On one (which I recently sold) I was able to restore the tabs (I think) using a couple shots of PB Blaster in the tab mechanism which is visible once you remove the carriage. On my keeper this technique has helped but the problem persists so I space over using the space bar for tabs. At least for now. Let me know if you find a real solution. Dato

    1. Dato, The problem was actually much worse when I got this SG-1. The tabs wouldn’t work at all. I dismantled the mechanism to get to the tab brakes and found that one of the small “brake shoes” made of zinc had deteriorated. I filed this down as best I could and the tabs mostly work. Now I have to pull the tab bar up each time I use it. I’ve adjusted and lubricated everything but the problem persists. It’s not a deal breaker but it is annoying.

  2. William, that is quite an article in the Times! I have to agree with your conclusion that neither woman holds the high moral ground in this saga.
