Blackwing alert! A Blackwing X with ‘Independent Bookstore Day’ written on it was spotted today alongside a page by Catalina. My favourite independent bookstore is The Bookgeek. It’s open seven days a week, 24 hours a day, serves coffee, the staff are friendly, even if you’re just a smelly old tramp coming in from the cold to keep warm, the basement (there are 3 floors) is given over entirely to poetry, and they do book exchange. There’s only one thing wrong with it, but it’s a big thing: it doesn’t exist.

Liz: I think Catalina is right, the comments section is sometimes benign, sometimes not. There’s nothing wrong with availing yourself of it as long as you’re discreet and refrain from criticizing anyone’s work. Writers are brittle souls who don’t like to be criticized, never mind what Dr. Johnson said.

Catalina, Congrats on getting to meet Duane!
Mike, Only the government thinks they get more daylight by advancing the clock and messing with everyone when we get more sun naturally in summer; an earlier morning light and a later evening light. Who needs to change the clock. Let it on standard time (or really mess with people’s heads and use UTC.) We used normal 24 hour time in the fire service, and I still use UTC in radio.
