Drat! Posted page 288 instead of 287 of ‘Caroline Says’ yesterday. (Wrote them both yesterday.) Will post 287 tomorrow. Those of you reading it day-by-day, please ignore today’s page until you’ve read tomorrow’s!
I live in a secular Roman Catholic family, yet we respect some traditional stuff… We do the “eating fish (no other meats) on Friday”, but ONLY on Good Friday; we’ve had a nice poached salmon for lunch and French crepes for supper.
It’s too bad that the pandemic removed the fun out of Palm Sunday: I loved weaving the new palm leaves for our house’s crucifix.

Xicano, I listened and watched the Carmen Goett singing La Llorna. Kind of a lamentation in itself; appropriate for Good Friday.
from La Llorna (Song by Carmen Goett)
…Cuáles no serían mis penas, llorona,
que el Santo Cristo lloró
Cuáles no serían mis penas, llorona,
que el Santo Cristo lloró
No creas que porque canto,
llorona, tengo el corazón alegre
No creas que porque yo canto,
llorona, tengo el corazón alegre…
…What would not be my sorrows, weeping woman,
that the Holy Christ wept
What would not be my sorrows, weeping woman,
that the Holy Christ wept
Don’t believe that because I sing, weeping woman,
I have a happy heart
Don’t believe that because I sing, weeping woman,
I have a happy heart…
