  1. Another day, another erratum: In today’s title-less chapter of Caroline Says, “Who brought in this machine?” should be a continuation of Maggie’s speech, not Damian’s, though I’m sure the reader will figure that out.

  2. Thanks for the shout out, Catalina. I might write a religious poem based on your typo ‘Koran Was’ – maybe a trilogy: Koran Is; Koran Will Be. Joking, of course; you’ll never catch me writing a religious poem!

  3. Linda in D.C., that Gervais quote is brilliant in how concisely it sums up several truths about the hypocrisy of many on the religious right. Are you in Palm Springs now? (sorry, I’ve been away from OTP too much).

    1. Actually just arrived today for the month of May. I needed a break from Washington, DC. Needed the sunshine and mountains to comfort me. I will try to find typewriters in antiques stores and maybe type a OTP or else will sum it up next month. I owe you a letter too.

  4. Thanks for the letterheads, Linda! (:
There’s some memories for me in there – the “Doodle Pad” was a popular item in job print shops in the 70’s & 80’s, and I can say I’ve printed thousands of notepads with that artwork (with various businesses info at the bottom) back then. Never kept one, though, so it’s fun to have that artwork again.

  5. Kent: They say it’s just a matter of time before the owner of a typewriter acquires a phonograph (or vice versa).

If you don’t already have more discs than you know what to do with, drop me a note via email – brendanmurphy(at)ymail.com – with your preferred genres and shipping address, and I’ll send some goodies. I was blessed to inherit my grandfather’s vinyl collection (500+ albums). He was a radio producer and broadcaster in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 40 years.

  6. Brendan: Thanks for the generous offer. I’ll be emailing you my info. It sounds like your grandfather left you quite a treasure.

  7. Note: Yoshioka-san’s husband was a veteran of Viet Nam conflict (not the Korean War) although he did visit Korea while in the service.
