Hi, Linda. Thanks for posting the poem by Nye. I enjoyed it.
Enough for a book? I have a box file that’s been filled this year alone, since they’re all typed on previously used paper and I only use one side. I must say I’ve surprised myself, and I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t have One Typed Page to post to. I’ll sort through the file some day, and send some of them out (though very few places want anything that’s appeared anywhere before) but poetry publishers tend to keep you waiting for months on end, they’re a real pain in the arse, and they all have their hobby-horses to ride. I did send a collection off, just once in my life, a few years ago, and they said they really liked it, that it was a really strong collection, and they were sure they would find ‘a suitable home’ somewhere, but it was not for them. Too much energy is wasted looking for publishers, energy better used producing words that some will read, (on One Typed Page) and a few will like. If my writing is finding readers every day, I’m happy.
Yes, Thanks Linda, in D.C. I needed Nye’s poem “Kindness” today. The world needs it!
