Harassment at work is never to be accepted or dismissed. Not sure who typed about it but stationery looks familiar. I was harassed at work and HR said too bad. It got so bad, I quit. I still don’t know how I could have stayed. I hope it is resolved soon for you. Keep good records of every conversation. Keep fighting for your safety and others. Bullies must be removed and dealt with separately. Good luck.
Something similar happened to me, too. The bully was very litigious so management failed to act. I was fortunate enough to be able to take a lateral to another county. It’s just awful to deal with. Apparently she was moved to our department after harassing someone in another department, something that happens with problem employees in order to avoid the legal fees of a disputed termination.
Sadly the bullies stay in power in the workplaces and public offices. They destroy lives, careers, opportunities for honest hardworking people to succeed. Some things never change and maybe never will in this country.
The thing about bullies is that they bully because we ‘let’ them bully, and because they know they can get away with it. Keep calm. Document. (Don’t even try to diagnose the person’s issues.) Make sure you let management know that they are responsible for creating a safe work environment — and legally liable if they retaliate against you for reporting harrassment. Bullies are not very effective when they hear the words, “No,” “Stop” and “Report…”
