Tom, Vega right now, in the evening, is almost directly overhead. What you might be seeing is Jupiter. -ciao

I think I loaded up an old Page instead of a picture. Will post tomorrow.

Comments on WP blogs are hit or miss. I planned to move my blog from blogger to WP. I have not done that because I don’t know which has the worst problems.

Ciao, You’re correct about Jupiter . . . did a little Googling and found out why it’s so bright. The Red Giant is now only 591 million kilometers from Earth, the closest it’s been since October 1963. It won’t be this close again until 2129. No wonder it’s lighting up the eastern sky. Really impossible to miss.-Tom

Tom, I am happy you’re back into stargazing, and I hope you have clear skies. You simply cannot go wrong with that book by Dickinson. 👍

I don’t know what is happening with the comments. A while back one comment got flagged as spam. It wasn’t. Nothing in the spam folder now. You do have to be logged in to comment.

Caio, if you’re having issues renaming files on iOS (iPhone, iPad, etc), from your camera roll, open the image and click on the export symbol and select export To File, then you’ll have a dialog box open where you can highlight and rename the file. At this time you can also create a new file folder to store the image in, if you want.
Then when it comes time to upload to OTP, select the Files option rather than Photos and navigate to the Folder and renamed image.

Thanks, Joe

LaDonna, Nice Hermes 3000. What year? A 3000 with curvy profile is before 1966. The boxy Hermes 3000 seems to have popped up around 1966.

This is a 1960 model. I like the look of the boxy ones too but have yet to try one.
