  1. I too mourn the death of Gordon Lightfoot. He was a great talent, a folk and pop singer/songwriter of the first water. Catalina mentioned “For Loving You,” one of Lightfoot’s many great songs. And it segues into another, “Did She Mention My Name.” ”if You Could Read My Mind” sounds as fresh today as it did in 1970. So many good ones. Bob Dylan said he couldn’t think of a Lightfoot song he didn’t like. Nor can I.

    1. A sad day indeed. I’m playing “Saturday Clothes” right now. Anybody like that one?

  2. Also, “In the Early Morning Rain”
In the early morning rain with a dollar in my hand
With an aching in my heart and my pockets full of sand
I’m a long way from home, Lord, I miss my loved ones so
In the early morning rain with no place to go…

…You can’t jump a jet plane like you can a freight train
So, I’d best be on my way in the early morning rain.
    -Gordon Lightfoot (1938-2023)

  3. What is it called, Catalina, when two songs are joined together such as those you and I mentioned? .

  4. Looking for something more musical, but mash up is good enough. The Yardbirds had a rave up.
